As the war in Iraq drags on into a fourth brutal year, the same politicians who led the U.S. to war in 2003 are preparing for a new war --this time against the people of Iran.
Once again using the pretext of "weapons of mass destruction," the U.S. is moving the forces into place in preparation for a possible attack.

9/11 U.S. Attack Evidence

The Shocking Truth – Nuclear War With Iran The Talk in Cathedral Square, Christchurch
...People with impeccable credentials have written that the so-called terrorist attack on New York and the Pentagon on Sept 9, 2001 was an inside job. Also, that the so-called al-Qaeda terrorists were really pawns in a much bigger conspiracy, organised by the Bush Administration to create a new enemy and justify their global crusade and wars against terrorism.

Whistleblower Daniel Ellsberg: Bush Likely to Attack Iran, Impeachment a Must

by Sari Gelzer
February 7, 2008

The American public and media have not picked up on the urgency surrounding a pending war with Iran.
Daniel Ellsberg, perhaps the country's most famous whistleblower, fears that before the Bush administration leaves office, it will try to attack Iran.
Indeed, Ellsberg's argument gained merit as George W. Bush increased his rhetoric against Iran when he delivered his final State of the Union Address. Bush accused Iran of training militia extremists in Iraq and emphasized the United States will confront its enemies.

National security expert: This is the "most egregious case of sensationalist journalism" in the service of Pentagon and Bush administration.
So this is something that really deserves to be scrutinized and, in fact, investigated by Congress, because of the significance, in the larger sense, of a potential major fabrication of evidence in order to make a political point by the Bush administration.       Stories by Amy Goodman

Excellent Analysis of 9/11 Questions

comment by Larry Ross
September 5, 2007

Fisk does an excellent analysis of 9/11 questions, but like so many prominent analysts stops short of drawing logical conclusions. There are many reasons and evidence why one can reasonably conclude that Bush and his associates planned and executed 9/11 to give themselves excuses to blame the Arabs and other Moslem states and initiate the 'war on terror'.

Even I question the 'truth' about 9/11

by Robert Fisk
August 25, 2007

Each time I lecture abroad on the Middle East, there is always someone in the audience – just one – whom I call the "raver". Apologies here to all the men and women who come to my talks with bright and pertinent questions – often quite humbling ones for me as a journalist – and which show that they understand the Middle East tragedy a lot better than the journalists who report it. But the "raver" is real. He has turned up in corporeal form in Stockholm and in Oxford, in Sao Paulo and in Yerevan, in Cairo, in Los Angeles and, in female form, in Barcelona. No matter the country, there will always be a "raver".

Excellent Analysis of US War On Iran

comment by Larry Ross
September 5, 2007

This excellent analysis by Chris Hedges fails to suggest that many US plans call for the US use of nuclear weapons against Iran although many good analysts have produced articles indicating this.
He and many other good commentators in the US also fail to describe the tricks and pretexts that the Bush Administration may use, such as staging a  'False Flag' attack on the US and blaming Iran as an excuse to launch a US attack.
Articles after the event will be too late and will either not be printed or will be ignored. If the world survives a possible holocaust, full war will ensure throughout the Middle East and perhaps elsewhere for the indefinite future. The future and great expectations of humanity will changed and consequences extreme.

Iran: The Next Quagmire

The most effective diplomats, like the most effective intelligence officers and foreign correspondents, possess empathy.  They have the intellectual, cultural and linguistic literacy to get inside the heads of those they must analyze or cover.  They know the vast array of historical, religious, economic and cultural antecedents that go into making up decisions and reactions.  And because of this—endowed with the ability to communicate and more able to find ways of resolving conflicts through diplomacy—they are less prone to blunders.

Snow Job in the Desert

by Paul Krugman
September 3, 2007

Paul Krugman writes for The New York Times: "Until recently I assumed that the failure to find W.M.D., followed by years of false claims of progress in Iraq, would make a repeat of the snow job that sold the war impossible. But I was wrong. The administration, this time relying on Gen. David Petraeus to play the Colin Powell role, has had remarkable success creating the perception that the 'surge' is succeeding, even though there's not a shred of verifiable evidence to suggest that it is."

More Wars Will Destroy US

comment by Larry Ross
August 25, 2007

Paul Craig Roberts tells how the US Congress and democratic opposition are no longer acting as the hope of the nation in stopping Bush's illegal war on Iraq, or his planned war with Iran. The consequences of these wars are not considered by the deluded war-crazed neocons. Roberts does not mention that the Bush regime has "nuclear weapons on the table" according to Bush. After an initial conventional weapon attack, and expected Iranian retaliation, the Bush regime may use that as their justification for the planned nuclear strike. Also not mentioned is the possibility that the Bush regime will stage a false flag attack on the US and blame Iran, as a method of gaining public support and consent for anything. Bush wants. There will then be a media blitz designed to fool their public and others, and gain the support and participation of governments in the Bush war plan.

Nor are the Democrats in the way of the Bush regime's build up for initiating war with Iran.

CIA Analyst Says Bush Will Attack Iran

comment by Larry Ross
August 22, 2007

Another article reinforces previous ones that  Bush will attack Iran - this time by a CIA analyst. There is very little doubt about it now - unless Bus is stopped by others in the US administration. That's not  likely as Bush surrounds himself with people who agree with him, and discharge his orders. This is a particularly well-informed rigorous analysis. So denial, and waiting until the war is launched will be much too late to have any effect on the catastrophic results. The time for action is now, for those who are concerned..

Time Predicts and Justifies War On Iran

comment by Larry Ross
August 22, 2007

As usual Time serves as a front line pro-war propagandist for the Bush Administration.
This story predicts a US military strike on Iran. But as expected, it implies it is a conventional strike. It omits to mention the nuclear preparations that may be used in such a strike - either in the initial strike, or later after Iran retaliates.

Prelude to an Attack on Iran

by Robert Baer
August 18, 2007

Reports that the Bush Administration will put Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps on the terrorism list can be read in one of two ways: it's either more bluster or, ominously, a wind-up for a strike on Iran. Officials I talk to in Washington vote for a hit on the IRGC, maybe within the next six months. And they think that as long as we have bombers and missiles in the air, we will hit Iran's nuclear facilities. An awe and shock campaign, lite, if you will. But frankly they're guessing; after Iraq the White House trusts no one, especially the bureaucracy.

Karl Rove Loses Debate on War With Iran - Cheney Wins

comment by Larry Ross
August 21, 2007

Apparently Rove, "Bush's brains" was against a war with Iran, which Cheney wanted. Karen Kwiatkowski's article is among many that indicate this war is now more likely. The many disastrous consequences, including escalation to a much wider, longer war and/or series of wars are okay with Cheney, Bush and the rest of the Bush Administration. If staged adroitly, based on the present broad range of lies, as were used to gain support for the Iraq war, Bush may also get away with this new deception.

What Will Clueless and Hopeless Do Next?

by Karen Kwiatkowski
August 20, 2007

Karl Rove's long-awaited departure from the White House makes sense, and not just because he really does need to spend more time with his family. Rove is a strange guy. And I say that not because of the rapping he has taken his critics, but because of his own rapping.
But that's just my opinion. Fact is, we are now Roveless.

Debunking Lies To Stop US War On Iran

Here is an excellent radio interview with a top US anti-war activist - Scott Horton.
All the issues are covered - Bush's lies for war are debunked - how End Times Christian Fundamentalist want an Armageddon battle in the middle east and are a powerful force in the US -- how Dick Cheney is as great a threat as George Bush and may get his way to bomb Iran. If you click at the bottom you can get another interview with Ron Paul, one of the few honest politicians left in Washington and one of the best opponents of the plan to start a war with Iran . These are great interviews - play the MP3's yourself, and to friends. Ideal for group gatherings. Many Pressures for War On Iran

comment by Larry Ross
August 19, 2007

In the US there are many political pressures for the US to make war with Iran as the following excellent article details. It indicates that the US is closer than ever to staging provocations that can be used as a pretext and justification for war with Iran . Some of the comments that follow the article are very worthwhile and perceptive.

Cheney, Lieberman and Iran War Conspiracy

by Gareth Porter
August 16, 2007

I was never one of those who believed the Bush administration was getting ready to attack Iran in 2006 or early 2007. But it is now clear that at least Vice President Dick Cheney is conspiring to push through a specific plan for war with Iran. And Senator Joe Lieberman is an active part of that conspiracy.

US War with Iran Closer in 2007

comment by Larry Ross
August 18, 2007

This 2005 article by Scott Ritter is still very important because it shows how US media failed to print any news about the many reports of a possible Pentagon pre-emptive air strike against Iran in June 2005. It also shows the appalling anti-UN, pro-war with Iran record of John Bolton who Bush appointed US Ambassador to the UN in 2005.

Sleepwalking to Disaster in Iran

by Scott Ritter
March 30, 2005

Late last year, in the aftermath of the 2004 Presidential election, I was contacted by someone close to the Bush administration about the situation in Iraq. There was a growing concern inside the Bush administration, this source said, about the direction the occupation was going. The Bush administration was keen on achieving some semblance of stability in Iraq before June 2005, I was told.

The US War with Iran has Already Begun

by Scott Ritter
June 20, 2005

Americans, along with the rest of the world, are starting to wake up to the uncomfortable fact that President George Bush not only lied to them about the weapons of mass destruction in Iraq (the ostensible excuse for the March 2003 invasion and occupation of that country by US forces), but also about the very process that led to war.

The Lone Voice of Sanity

comment by Larry Ross
August 17, 2007

Dennis Kucinich is one of the few lone voices of sanity in the US Congress exposing the Bush Administration's steps to prepare the US for a war on Iran. Most Republicans and Democrats have jumped on Bush's war bandwagon. They are repeating and justifying the lies designed to sell Americans on a war on Iran. It is amazing how Bush's many lies on Iran are virtually unchallenged in the media and believed by the majority of Americans who were already fooled by the same kind of lies before the 2003 US attack and occupation of Iraq.

Urgent Letter from Dennis Kucinich about Bush Administration Plans for a US War vs. Iran

Dear Friends,
The Bush Administration is preparing for war against Iran, using an almost identical drumbeat of weapons of mass destruction, imminent threat, alleged links to Al Queda, and even linking Iran with a future 911.

  Costs Of Escalation In Iraq
comment by Larry Ross
August 17, 2007

The very useful figures that Tom Englehardt has complied are astonishing and infuriating. A tiny minority in the US, elected by fraud, and supported by the Government machinery including the Military, using deceitful techniques and lies, started wars and spent billions killing over one million Iraqis, destroyed their infrastructure, created four million refugees (2 outside Iraq and 2 inside), started a civil war, created permanent military bases More than 75, according to the New York Times.

All-time Highs in Iraq: Escalation by the Numbers

August 16, 2007

Someday, we will undoubtedly discover that, in the term "surge" -- as in the President's "surge" plan (or "new way forward") announced to the nation in January -- was the urge to avoid the language (and experience) of the Vietnam era. As there were to be no "body bags" (or cameras to film them as the dead came home), as there were to be no "body counts" ("We have made a conscious effort not to be a body-count team" was the way the President put it ), as there were to be no "quagmires," nor the need to search for that "light at the end of the tunnel," so, surely, there were to be no "escalations."

The following article will activate people to order the Poison DUst Educators Pack from the US and educate others, particularly students, about this insidious and long term threat to everyone on the planet. DU will be with us for eternity as it has a 4.4 billion year half life. The US and UK are lying when they claim it does not cause any permanent threat. Bleak Future for Americans

comment by Larry Ross
August 15, 2007

Americans will have very little choice in the next election, as the Democrats embrace the same deceptive policies as the Bush Administration.
Although the Bush republicans can be shot down in flames over their series of invented lies to justify wars in Iraq and Iran, none of the front running democrats are prepared to say so. They even say, like Bush, that they are prepared to use nuclear weapons against Iran and are constantly currying favour with the Israeli lobby. Everything about US politics is myth and pretence. Pretence and lies become truth. It is very sick and very dangerous. Anything can happen. Perhaps the only person who could now save America is Al Gore - if he runs for President.

Neolibs and Neocons, United and Interchangeable

by Philip Giraldi
August 14, 2007

When it comes to foreign policy, particularly as it relates to the Middle East, there is not a whole lot of separation between the Democratic and Republican Parties. Republicans tend to be more bellicose in their statements, but Democrats have more than made up for that with their steely resolve to take the fight to the enemy wherever he might be. Both Republicans and Democrats reflexively support Israel, and nearly all candidates are in agreement on a number of other areas, including an aggressive policy toward Iran.

Superb Indictment of Western Media Deceptions

comment by Larry Ross
August 11, 2007

This is John Pilger at his best, exposing how the media spins and plays government propaganda as 'news'. How they cover up facts, genuflect to special interests and suppress or omit unwanted truths. As Western society, led by the Bush Administration moves quickly toward dictatorship, using 'wars on terror' as their cover story, it is the media that is cheer-leading the charge - repeating all lies- seldom questioning - and never doubting any official falsehood, and covering up facts which expose official lies. No wonder they want to get their dirty hands on internet and then choke to death this one source of unbiased news. You cannot read John Pilger without wanting to be active in trying to stop this cancerous growth from our culture.

Proof of 'False Flag' Attack and War Conspiracy?

comment by Larry Ross
August 10, 2007

Morgan Reynolds believes the 9/11 attacks were an inside job to gain public approval for wars on Afghanistan and Iraq. He also thinks the Bush-Cheney regime will stage another covert 'false flag' attack on the US, then blame Iran to justify a war on Iran. He served in the first George Bush Administration so he has knowledge of what's going on in Washington and insight into the real goals of the Bush regime.

Reynolds indicted Richard Cheney, George W. Bush, former Joint Chiefs Chairman Richard Meyers, confessed WTC demolisher and insurance-fraudster Larry Silverstein, and others for mass murder, conspiracy, and other charges including high treason. The enthusiastic response from the overflow crowd was a de facto vote for conviction on all counts.

How Major Mass US Media Help Demonize Iran

comment by Larry Ross
August 9, 2007

This important story details how major US media, such as the New York Times and one of it's so-called reporters help to demonise Iran using false accusations such as "killing 5 US soldiers". Big lies and false accusations shape US pubic attitudes to hate Iran and thus approve a future US war on Iran . Many such unsubstantiated accusations are made. This time a top US newspaper with a prestigious reputation has joined directly in the 'demonise Iran ' campaign of the Bush Administration. The NYT played the same role in helping condition the US public to accept Bush's lies and false accusations against Iraq before the war in 2003. They still do. So far as I know the NYT has not admitted it's pro-war propaganda role before and during the infamous Iraq war.

Hillary, Hiroshima and US Hubris

by Larry Ross
August 8, 2007

US policies and attitudes have shifted from nuclear deterrence with mass destruction and mutual suicide, to nuclear weapon use against any non-nuclear nation named as a US enemy. It's well documented in the Justin Raimondo article that follows. The named enemy is Iran and Bush has invented a number of lies, false accusations and suspicions to demonise Iran to the American people. Bush used the same 'big lie' technique prior to his unprovoked attack on Iraq in 2003. Then he had the alleged 9/11 'terrorist' attack and knowingly concocted lies linking Saddam Hussein to Bin Laden and this attack. Accusations were enough and worked for Bush in spite of mass demonstrations. Although there was lots of evidence these accusations were wrong, Bush's lies - effectively promoted and repeated by the mass media - were sufficient to get public and Congressional support.

Justifying Mass Murder

by Justin Raimondo
August 8, 2007

The anniversary of the U.S. bombing of the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki is, perhaps, a good time to note that arguments rationalizing and even valorizing the use of nuclear weapons, once considered beyond the pale, are now back in fashion. Here we have yet more evidence of the Bizarro Effect , which, ever since 9/11, has stood everything – especially our traditional concept of morality – on its head, not only repealing the laws of logic and common sense but also ensconcing evil in the place of good.

Another Step Towards US Dictatorship

by Larry Ross
August 7, 2007

The US Congress and mass media is meekly complying with every step Bush takes toward imposing a dictatorship on American citizens.
Only a few publications, like the San Francisco Chronicle article that follows, expose the latest Bush threat to American democracy.
Again, Bush is demonising Iran by accusing them of wanting nuclear weapons, and accusing them of aiding terrorism in his illegal Iraq War.

It doesn't require a subpoena of Attorney General Alberto Gonzales or a brave whistle-blower to find President Bush's latest affront to the U.S. Constitution. Preparing the US Public for a Terrorist Attack

by Larry Ross
July 31, 2007

Philip Giraldi is an ex-CIA analyst and intelligence officer. He recently warned that any terrorist attack on the US would be treated as having been masterminded by Iran, to provide Bush with justification to attack Iran. This will happen even if Iran had nothing to do with such an attack.

Terrorists Are Everywhere

by Philip Giraldi
July 31, 2007

In an attempt to reverse plummeting approval ratings, the Bush administration is mounting an unprecedented, sustained campaign of disinformation on the terrorist threat confronting the United States. Even the mainstream media has noted how the White House has attempted falsely to tie al-Qaeda to the war in Iraq, with President Bush increasing the number of references to the group in speeches made during the month of July. On July 10, al-Qaeda was referred to 30 times in a Cleveland speech on the Iraq war. By July 25, the president referred to al-Qaeda no less than 95 times in a speech made before a group of airmen in Charleston, S.C.

Chomsky Says New Cold War, Not Hot War With Iran

by Larry Ross
July 31, 2007

I hope Chomsky is right but I think he hasn't mentioned some of the other reasons Bush may proceed with plans for a pre-emptive nuclear attack on Iran.. . .
But if anything distinguishes Bush, it is his propensity to ignore public and world opinion, particularly once he has set his mind on war. Also he may be following a 'false flag' hidden agenda he hopes will transform his image and boost his popularity. After all, as he believes God is on his side, and he is working for God. Why then, should he worry about the opinions of others?

Chomsky: There Will Be a Cold War Between Iran and the U.S.

by Noam Chomsky
July 30, 2007

In the energy-rich Middle East, only two countries have failed to subordinate themselves to Washington's basic demands: Iran and Syria. Accordingly both are enemies, Iran by far the more important.
As was the norm during the Cold War, resort to violence is regularly justified as a reaction to the malign influence of the main enemy, often on the flimsiest of pretexts. Unsurprisingly, as Bush send s more troops to Iraq, tales surface of Iranian interference in the internal affairs of Iraq -- a country otherwise free from any foreign interference, on the tacit assumption that Washington rules the world.

Fundamentalists Welcome Armageddon

comment by Larry Ross
July 31, 2007

US Fundamentalists express the most dangerous and bizarre beliefs as indicated below. These people call for a war with Iran as a method of achieving Armageddon and being raptured to Heaven. This movement includes some very powerful, influential and wealthy people, who work hard to make their 'End Times' dreams come true. The most powerful man in the world, George Bush, is regarded as a hero by this group who see him as appointed by God to bring about the destiny they want. Will their madness prevail? Consider their dedication and the resources they pour into what they believe will bring on Armageddon. Compare that to your own dedication and the resources you and others put into rationality and peace. The various Fundamentalists may be mad but there is a growing body of such believers. Their dedicated madness and resources, linked to the power and nuclear madness of the Bush Administration, could prevail over the rational, but apathetic 'business-as-usual' majority.

Hagee and his minions have forged close ties with the Bush White House and members of Congress from Sen. Joseph Lieberman to Sen. John McCain. In its call for a unilateral military attack on Iran and the expansion of Israeli territory, CUFI has found unwavering encouragement from traditional pro-Israel groups like AIPAC and elements of the Israeli government.

Will US Allow Bush To Bomb Iran Soon?

by Larry Ross
July 29, 2007

Dr Frank gave us an important insight into the mental workings and decision-making of George Bush (below). Unless impeachment proceedings begin very soon, Dr Frank predicts Bush will attack Iran. It is not so much a matter of Bush deciding not to take this course, as the US Congress deciding to stop him before he can do it, and/or the US  military deciding not to implement a Bush command to strike Iran, because their loyalty to the US Constitution trumps Bush commands.
Unfortunately both possibilities are not strong and Bush has surrounded himself with yes men who will obey his every command.

Dangers of a Cornered George Bush

By Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity & Dr. Justin Frank
July 27, 2007
The “new” strategy of surging troops in Baghdad has simply wasted more lives and bought some time for the president. His strategy boils down to keeping as many of our soldiers engaged as possible, in order to stave off definitive defeat in Iraq before January 2009.
Bush is commander in chief, but Congress must approve funding for the war, and its patience is running out. The war – and the polls – are going so badly that it is no longer a sure thing that the administration will be able to fund continuance of the war.
There is an outside chance Congress will succeed in forcing a pullout starting in the next several months. What would the president likely do in reaction to that slap in the face?

Bush May Declare Martial Law

comment by Larry Ross
July 29, 2007
The following article by Dave Lindorff, author of "The Case For Impeachment", leaves no doubt that the American system is being geared for Bush to declare Martial law when and if he decides to proceed with the neocon plans for war with Iran. This will probably take place after a terrorist incident against the US - perhaps a US-staged 'false flag' attack on the US and blaming Iran.

Impeach Now - Or Face the End of Constitutional Democracy

by Paul Craig Roberts
July 17, 2007
Unless Congress immediately impeaches Bush and Cheney, a year from now the US could be a dictatorial police state at war with Iran.
Bush has put in place all the necessary measures for dictatorship in the form of "executive orders" that are triggered whenever Bush declares a national emergency. Recent statements by Homeland Security Chief Michael Chertoff, former Republican senator Rick Santorum and others suggest that Americans might expect a series of staged, or false flag, "terrorist" events in the near future.

The Threat Of Martial Law Is Real

by Dave Lindorff
July 27, 2007
The looming collapse of the US military in Iraq, of which a number of generals and former generals, including former Chief of Staff Colin Powell, have warned, is happening none too soon, as it my be the best hope for preventing military rule here at home.
From the looks of things, the Bush/Cheney regime has been working assiduously to pave the way for a declaration of military rule, such that at this point it really lacks only the pretext to trigger a suspension of Constitutional government. They have done this with the active support of Democrats in Congress, though most of the heavy lifting was done by the last, Republican-led Congress.

Scott Horton Interviews Philip Giraldi: MP3

Posted July 27, 2007
Former CIA counter-terrorism officer and Antiwar.com columnist Philip Giraldi debunks the War Party's claims that Iran backs al Qaeda, explains U.S. support for the terrorist groups Mujahadeen-e-Khalq and Jundullah against Iran, and the two most likely circumstances in which Cheney will use or threaten to use nuclear weapons against Iran.

New Cold War Could Quickly Become Hot
by Larry Ross
July 24, 2007

Relations are deteriorating between Russia and the US due to a number of factors explored by Mike Whitney in his following article. Both nations have their nuclear missiles on 'hair-trigger' alert status, ready to be launched at each other "by accident, miscalculation, act of madness" as President Kennedy warned in 1962, or today's accepted US Congressional legalised nuclear madness of an intentional pre-emptive surprise nuclear attack. Bush has his new nuclear doctrines in place to launch pre-emptive nuclear war at whoever his executive decides threaten the USA. Any excuse will do and no facts or proofs are needed. The Bush regime doesn't even have to follow its original lie-based script, but can innovate with new lies and excuses as it did with the Iraq War since 2003.

  Kissinger's Secret Meeting With Putin
by Mike Whitney
July 18, 2007

RAF fighter jets were scrambled to intercept two Russian strategic bombers heading for British airspace yesterday, as the spirit of the Cold War returned to the North Atlantic once again. The incident, described as rare by the RAF, served as a telling metaphor for the stand-off between London and Moscow over the murder of Alexander Litvinenko.” (Times Online, Richard Beeston; “RAF scrambles to intercept Russian bombers, 7-18-07)

False Flags May Start Iran War and Bush Dictatorship
comment by Larry Ross
July 19, 2007

Paul Craig Roberts knows what's really happening and likely to happen in Washington. He was a top official in the Reagan Administration and assistant editor of the Wall Street Journal. His dire warnings about the disasters to follow if Bush, Cheney and others are not impeached should be a spur to action.
All the indications are for a US war on Iran and all the machinery is in place for Bush to declare a crisis situation and make the US his dictatorship.
Of particular importance is Roberts warnings that Bush will stage a 'false flag' covert attack on the US and then blame Iran as a justification for war and a US dictatorship.

Lies, More Lies and Damn Lies
from Larry Ross
July 18, 2007

This article describes how the increased conditioning of gullible Americans about the alleged 'terrorist threat' makes them support the Republicans they believe will better protect them. It also prepares the ground for a real US-staged 'false flag' attack on the US, which the Bush regime might arrange to justify their much-heralded war on Iran. That most Americans are dangerously misinformed and gullible is revealed by recent polls that found that 60% of the American public and 90% of US troops in Iraq and Afghanistan believe Saddam Hussein colluded with bin Laden to launch the alleged 9/11 attacks on US.

Lies, More Lies and Damn Lies
by Eric Margolis
July 17, 2007

As Americans turn increasingly against President George Bush's calamitous war in Iraq, and revolt spreads through Republican ranks, the White House is again resorting to its tried-and-true ploy of fanning grossly inflated fears of terrorism.
The president just made two preposterous claims last week that insult the intelligence of his listeners. First, Bush insisted US forces in Iraq are fighting "the same people who staged 9/11."

  Analysis of Bush Dictatorship
by Larry Ross
July 18, 2007

It is really a matter of objectively considering the facts, cutting through the double think, propaganda and party loyalties to make an honest analysis - and perhaps face some very unpleasant facts and suspicions. Some of the best analysts are from the right of the political spectrum - people like John Paul Roberts and Morgan Reynolds. I really respect and feature their work although I would be labelled as from the left of the political spectrum. In fact I'm neither right nor left and reject this kind of 'don't think' labelling.
The labels 'right and left' when applied to people or political thoughts often inhibits a rational consideration of the issue at hand. The tendency is to generate an immediate bias and then dismiss the issue without consideration.

General George Bush: America's Presidential-Military Dictator
by Jo Swift
July 16, 2007
Bush emphasized the role of the military as a counterweight to public opinion. He outlined a concept of presidential power that upholds the military as a critical “constituency” rising above, and placed in opposition to, the American people.
Every would-be dictator claims that his authoritarian measures are taken to ensure national security. Everything else must be sacrificed, including democratic rights. This is the basic line that has been utilized by the government since 9/11 to lay siege to constitutionally protected democratic rights, in the name of the “war on terror”.

  Orwell's 1984 Re-enacted
from Larry Ross
July 18, 2007

Paul Craig Roberts has done a masterly job at exposing Bush's changing lies to justify the Iraq war and coming war on Iran in a very similar way that George Orwell did in his futuristic book "1984"
It explains why Orwell's book achieved such fame - people knew he was right.
Unfortunately the American population is forever gullible. They accept the changing lies just as Orwell's population accepted them in 1984.
With a wealth of experience in Washington , and having served in the Reagan Administration, Paul Craig Roberts is well-qualified to make this comparison.

A Free Press or a Ministry of Truth?
by Paul Craig Roberts
July 17, 2007

In his novel 1984 , George Orwell portrayed a future time in which the explanations of recent events and earlier history are continually changed to meet Big Brother's latest purpose. Previous explanations disappear down "the memory hole."
Sound familiar? Any American who pays attention can observe the identical phenomenon occurring in the U.S. today.

  False Flag on Iran?
from Larry Ross
July 18, 2007

The US has already made a number of false charges against Iran - more than enough to justify a war. Bush may feel he does not need to stage a false flag attack on the US and blame Iran in order to justify his planned attack. He has already invented enough lies to blame Iran , as he did before his attack on Iraq. Congress has given Bush an open door for a new war and the authority he needs to make a new war on Iran on top of the deepening quagmire he made in Iraq.

In the United States provoking war with Iran, to begin while the Congress is conveniently on its August recess?
One recalls that it was in August 1964, after the Republicans nominated Barry Goldwater, that the Tonkin Gulf incident occurred.

  Bush Normalises Torture
by Larry Ross
July 14, 2007

James Bamford, author and long-time expert on the CIA says the recent CIA released "crown jewels" of CIA operations from 1950 into the 1970's, "seems so minor compared to what the CIA is doing today".

  Architect of Torture
by Nat Hentoff
July 10, 2007

... Among the many examples of how the CIA today makes the agency detailed in the "crown jewels" documents look pallid by comparison is the system of torture created by the Bush administration in the treatment of suspected terrorists. Along with the Iraq War, the CIA's "renditions" and "black sites" greatly add to what Julianne Smith of the Center for Strategic and International Studies calls "the rather dark shadow [cast] on our relationship with our European allies," and much of the rest of the world.

A Third US Aircraft Carrier to Boost Attack on Iran?
by Larry Ross
July 12, 2007

If the US is planning to launch a pre-emptive nuclear attack on Iran soon, they would strenuously deny it, and strenuously deny that their unprecedented military build up off Iran's coast, including this third aircraft carrier is in preparation for such a strike. The whole strategy behind a pre-emptive strike is that the intended target is caught by surprise and doesn't know what's coming. It is quite vital to the attacker, that the victim is unprepared for both the attack and to make any possible retaliation.

A third US carrier, the USS Enterprise Strike Group is speeding towards the Persian Gulf
Liberty Post
June 22, 2007

According to DEBKA file's military sources, the US naval build-up off the shores of Iran marks rising military tensions in the region, accentuated by last week's Hamas victory which has endowed Iran with a military foothold on Israel's southwestern border.
The USS Enterprise CVN 65-Big E Strike Group will join the USS Stennis and the USS Nimitz carriers, building up the largest sea, air, marine concentration the United States has ever deployed opposite Iran. This goes towards making good on the assurances of four carriers US Vice President Dick Cheney offered the Gulf and Middle East nations during his May tour of the region.

One secret decision can destroy our human family in hours. Expanding Bush's illegal wars to Iran, means using nuclear weapons. What peace people do in New York or Washington (see below) to end and prevent expanded wars and impeach the war criminals is also acting for you, me and everyone - everywhere. Use the Internet to encourage or help peace actions in New York and Washington The time is up, the countdown has started. The 3rd US aircraft carrier fleet is steaming toward the Persian Gulf. Rally Monday July 16, Times Square - Troops Out Now! SEPT 22- 29: It's time to move from Protest to Resistance:
In just a few days, General Petreus will provide a preliminary report to Congress detailing the failure of the Bush "surge" to crush the resistance of the Iraqi people.  Politicians of both parties are scurrying to find positions that will allow them to publicly distance themselves from the failed attempt to colonize Iraq, while they continue to vote for funding for the war.

Israel: Influence on US Peace Movement and US Mid-East Policies
by Larry Ross
July 10, 2007

This is one of many articles I see dealing with the influence of Israel on US Mid-East policies, and how deeply it's agents and activists have penetrated US society. Not mentioned but very important is how Christian Zionists and 'End Time' religionists, link Israel and their favourite myth of 'God's final battle of Armageddon' to Israel's preservation. It is a potent mix in which George Bush as a fervent Christian Fundamentalist End Times believer, plays a vital role.

US Middle East Wars: Social Opposition and Political Impotence
by James Petras

Everywhere I visit from Copenhagen to Istanbul, Patagonia to Mexico City, journalists and academics, trade unionists and businesspeople, as well as ordinary citizens, inevitably ask me why the US public tolerates the killing of over a million Iraqis over the last two decades, and thousands of Afghans since 2001?

Is Bush's Religion Calling for Global Geneocide?
from Larry Ross
July 2, 2007

'End Timers' Urge Bush -'Bring on God's Nuclear Doomsday' and Rapture to Heaven for the Faithful. Bush's 'End Times' supporters believe this would be the biblical Armageddon, as foretold in an obscure passage in the Bible. They believe Bush is God's chosen one, and are urging him to make it all happen. They believe it will result in a rapture of the chosen faithful few to heaven. Almost everything Bush has done in the Middle East, and not done, is consistent with these religious bunkum beliefs.

Bush, Mideast Wars and End-Time Prophecy
by JP Briggs II, Ph.D., and Thomas D. Williams
June 29, 2007

President George W. Bush has become dangerously steeped in ideas of Armageddon, the Apocalypse, an imminent war with Satanic forces in the Middle East, and an urgency to construct an American theocracy to fulfill God's end-of-days plan, according to close observers.
Historians and investigative journalists following the "end-time Christian" movement have grown alarmed at the impact it may be having on Bush's Middle East policies, including the current war in Iraq, the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian crisis, the strife in Lebanon and the administration's repeated attempts to find a cause for war against Iran.
