One of the Best Articles on Nuclear War On Iran

Created In May 2005, Chossudovsky's article remains one of the best I have seen on the US planned nuclear war on Iran. I therefore recommend that people read, or reread this article. Its message is re-enforced by millions of other articles, some by world experts if you Google search "US Nuclear War On Iran". Consider it and what you could do to help prevent such a holocaust, and reverse the machinery of war and deception, that is creating these doomsday scenarios. This article deals with the facts, not with the implications and some of the deeper, darker evil machinations of the Bush hierarchy. I will outline a few of these.

1. The Bush Administration has established that it will use any lies, or actual crimes to justify wars, such as the Iraq war and coming war on Iran.
   
   
2. International crimes, such as covertly invading Iran and conducting spying, blowing up installations, trying to turn the population against their government (called 'regime change' in Washington) is accepted as an okay thing to do by the conditioned US public. Accepted crimes leads the criminals on to other crimes.
   
   
3. Bush & Co and the thousands of people and military, who will implement their plans, are unconcerned about the millions they may kill, maim and condemn to a hell of suffering as they slowly die of radiation and other effects of the bombing, if they use nuclear weapons as they plan to do. Is it any wonder that thinking, concerned military and other people employed by the US government are resigning or being fired rather than continue and increase Bush's wars based on lies?
   
   
4. As a corollary of 3, it is no surprise that Bush is selecting known criminals, psychopaths, right-wing fanatics and fundamentalists and others with black reputations to move into positions of high authority in the US government infrastructure. Such people have no compunctions about implementing genocidal and illegal war strategies, even moving toward a nuclear world war III.
   
   
5. Although the polls show Bush's popularity rating is only 28% - an all time low, Americans are acclimatised by constant pro-war conditioning of varying intensity since 1945. During every war or covert intervention since 1945 there is pro-war propaganda and conditioning of the American people that it is done for the best, noble motives of 'freedom, democracy, liberty, et etc' Generally, the majority of American people always accept, even embrace these deceitful techniques. While it is true that 50,000 killed US soldiers in Vietnam, and some 2 million Vietnamese, and more coming home maimed and wounded; it's costs US politicians still extended this quagmire as long as possible until public protest became overwhelming. Reluctantly, US troops were ordered home.
   
   
6. That was Vietnam. Today it's an Iraq quagmire based on a similar litany of lies. Americans have tended to forget Administration lies about Vietnam and accept sanitised and glamorised versions of that war. So once again they accepted a litany lf lies to go to war in Iraq.
   
   
7. US propaganda and deceitful techniques are far more advanced. Administration control of the mass media content is far greater, mainly leaving only internet to expose the lies and realities of the war. But the Bush Administration is looking at various steps it can take to control and suppress this new media - one of the few remaining chinks in their psychological warfare armour. This means that wars like Vietnam that had to be ended due to public pressures, are more likely to be continued today.
   
   
8. One good indicator is the public rejection of Iraq war lies, but acceptance or resignation to a continuation of the war with much less protest. Congress made a lot of protest noises, but ending up approving Iraq war funding; while the couch potatoes are watching soaps or the celebrity-of-the-day on TV. Protest was high when Bush invaded. But life goes on and people have learned to accept the war no matter what the costs. These are very, very high in many sectors and will become astronomical if Bush makes war on Iran. Although the situation is much worse in Iraq, there is hardly any protest today in spite of the valiant efforts of a few committed American heroes. Certainly the situation in far away cities like Christchurch New Zealand has seen protest shrink for 2-3,000 in peace marches in 2003, to 100 if we try very hard 4 years later in 2007. NZ media plays a vital role in this lack of protest by selecting overseas right wing pro-war propaganda articles to reprint, by not reporting Iraq war protests and suppressing the facts on the war in Iraq. As a result many citizens are poorly or wrongly informed.
   
   
9. Bush & Co are prepared to not only kill millions, but also contaminate Iran and neighbouring environment with nuclear explosions and tons of radioactive dust that will spread, kill and cause mutant children for years to come. Is it any wonder they are not concerned about Global warming and the effects of the widespread contamination of the environment?
   
   
10. Neocon war planners must be very pleased that they have conditioned the American public to stay passive and accept this coming multiple crisis.
    
    
11. Most experts warn that a war on Iran, particularly a nuclear war, could trigger world war III and the end of humanity.
    
    
12. Can we expect psychopathic war criminals to worry about this? It is not realistic to expect "world domination" war planers to worry about the disastrous results of their insanity.
    
    
13. Bush reactions to any criticism or disagreement indicate that the neocon mentality has inbuilt protection against advice and knowledge other than its own fantasies and hubristic desires. Expert friendly advice, insights or careful rational prediction, is treated as an annoyance or joke.
    
    
14. Bush & Co have over a year left of Bush's official term, and they may change the political landscape and stage a crisis that will allow indefinite extension of Bush's rule.
    

Thus passively waiting until the end of Bush's term to end the nightmare may only allow it to multiply. For all these reasons it appears as if only some kind of dramatic action can prevent a disaster. Impeaching Bush by citizens' actions may be the only alternative. Planned US-Israeli Attack on Iran

At the outset of Bush's second term, Vice President Dick Cheney dropped a bombshell. He hinted, in no uncertain terms, that Iran was "right at the top of the list" of the rogue enemies of America, and that Israel would, so to speak, "be doing the bombing for us", without US military involvement and without us putting pressure on them "to do it":

"One of the concerns people have is that Israel might do it without being asked... Given the fact that Iran has a stated policy that their objective is the destruction of Israel, the Israelis might well decide to act first, and let the rest of the world worry about cleaning up the diplomatic mess afterwards," (quoted from an MSNBC Interview Jan 2005)

Israel is a Rottweiler on a leash: The US wants to "set Israel loose" to attack Iran.  Commenting the Vice President's assertion, former National Security adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski in an interview on PBS, confirmed with some apprehension, yes: Cheney wants Prime Ariel Sharon to act on America's behalf and "do it" for us:

"Iran I think is more ambiguous. And there the issue is certainly not tyranny; it's nuclear weapons. And the vice president today in a kind of a strange parallel statement to this declaration of freedom hinted that the Israelis may do it and in fact used language which sounds like a justification or even an encouragement for the Israelis to do it."

The foregoing statements are misleading. The US is not "encouraging Israel". What we are dealing with is a joint US-Israeli military operation to bomb Iran, which has been in the active planning stage for more than a year. The Neocons in the Defense Department, under Douglas Feith, have been working assiduously with their Israeli military and intelligence counterparts, carefully identifying targets inside Iran ( Seymour Hersh, http://www.globalresearch.ca/articles/HER501A.html )

Under this working arrangement, Israel will not act unilaterally, without a green light from Washington. In other words, Israel will not implement an attack without the participation of the US. Covert Intelligence Operations:

Stirring Ethnic Tensions in Iran

Meanwhile, for the last two years, Washington has been involved in covert intelligence operations inside Iran. American and British intelligence and special forces (working with their Israeli counterparts) are involved in this operation.

"A British intelligence official said that any campaign against Iran would not be a ground war like the one in Iraq. The Americans will use different tactics, said the intelligence officer. The expectation is that a US-Israeli bombing raid of Iran's nuclear facilities will stir up ethnic tensions and trigger "regime change" in favor of the US. (See Arab Monitor, http://www.globalresearch.ca/articles/ARA502A.html ).

Bush advisers believe that the "Iranian opposition movement" will unseat the Mullahs. This assessment constitutes a gross misjudgment of social forces inside Iran. What is more likely to occur is that Iranians will consistently rally behind a wartime government against foreign aggression. In fact, the entire Middle East and beyond would rise up against US interventionism.

Retaliation in the Case of a US-Israeli Aerial Attack

Tehran has confirmed that it will retaliate if attacked, in the form of ballistic missile strikes directed against Israel (CNN, 8 Feb 2005). These attacks, could also target US military facilities in the Persian Gulf, which would immediately lead us into a scenario of military escalation and all out war.
