Covert Operations Revealed

Comment by Larry Ross, October 5, 2005

A number of papers on this site indicate that the Bush administration commits terrorist acts, with the objectives of bringing about, a civil war in Iraq that will justify their continuing occupation and plundering of Iraq's recourses. This article is the first one I have seen that also claim UK forces are also engaging in this deadly and evil game. Pro-war propagandists and even so-called critics of the war are claiming the US coalition will have to stay there:

  1. To clean up the mess and rebuild etc
  2. Help stabilise the situation and give the US-imposed 'democracy' a chance
  3. We can't let the 'terrorists' win
  4. There would be civil war if we left, so we must stay.

These and other excuses dreamed up by Bush's spin artists are used to quiet the American people and get them to accept continuing US occupation and the death and maiming of US and allied troops ' in this noble cause'.

Concrete evidence that US and UK covert operations are working hard to create chaos in Iraq and the atmosphere for a civil war as is indicated in the following article.

Self-labelled war critics, so beloved and published by such papers as Murdoch's London Sunday Times, and the papers that republish some of their articles, like the New Zealand Christchurch Press try and create a veneer of respectability, justification and self-sacrifice for continued occupation, imprisonment, torture and killing.

Never mentioned by the spin doctor editors and so-called journalists, is the illegal basis - with no justification - for US aggression. The collection of lies created by Bush's PNAC administration, to justify invasion, occupation and continued killing is never mentioned.

Even well-recognised news sources such as the BBC, while struggling to maintain a fig leaf of objectivity, nevertheless are now accepting and relaying a Bush/Blair version of events. They simply do not report many inconvenient facts, that conflict with official assumptions and versions of events.

A Policy of Absolute Barbarism?

Basra; another milestone in war on terror

"What our police found in their car was very disturbing - weapons, explosives, and a remote control detonator. These are the weapons of terrorists. We believe these soldiers were planning an attack on a market or other civilian targets." Sheik Hassan al-Zarqani, spokesman for the Mehdi Army

By Mike Whitney, September 24, 2005

We are only interested in one thing regarding the melee that broke out in Basra following the arrest of two British commandoes on September 20: whether or not the car they were driving contained explosives? The answer to that question could decide the future of Iraq as well as the fate of Bush's war on terror. Nothing should deter us from getting to the bottom of this crucial question and no extraneous fact or fiction should divert our attention from uncovering the answer.                 ....continue.....
