Nuclear
War Plans Can Lead To Extinction
Comment by Larry Ross, September 26, 2005
A search on "Pre-emptive Nuclear War" revealed there are 1,750,000
entries on Google.
They illustrate the colossal investment in designing and making various
types of nuclear weapons and the strategies to use them.
Think about the hundreds of
billions of dollars poured into the nuclear arms race during the last
65 years since 1945. Now think about the paltry fig-leaf sum devoted to
peace and disarmament and the suspicion and rejection of those working
in this field. These facts and reflections tell you something about humanity
and our runaway race toward extinction.
The designers, makers, users and the multitude of political defenders
of these devices do everything in their power to convince us that they
are safe and in control. They are stunningly and stupefyingly arrogant
and seem to believe it is perfectly okay to use such monstrous killing
devices for whatever reasons they deign to offer. Bush and Blair were
returned to office in spite of their threats to use such weapons - not
for defence, but in the service of a series of lies they manufactured
to justify a war on Iraq. Who can question why our godly leaders feel
invincible, untouchable and beyond all law?
People are living in a fog of ignorance about the incredible lies used
and about nuclear weapons, strategies and the plans to use them. They
need to learn about what's really happening and that we all face extinction
if Bush employs his new pre-emptive nuclear war doctrine. People need
to learn the truth in order to feel motivated to stop Bush before its
too late.
With pre-emptive nuclear war strategies now in fashion, Bushites are now
doing everything they possibly can to justify their first use of such
weapons. They claim they can control their use - that only mini, mini,
itsy-bitsy nuclear weapons will be used, and it is okay to use them on
selected targets. They desperately want you to believe that it is only
on deep bunkers harbouring the kind of weapons they have been stockpiling
for years. They want you to believe it is okay because they are moral,
and the 'enemy' is part of an 'axis of evil'.
They are trying to convince
you that there would never ever be an escalation to global war that would
destroy humanity. In any case they say it is your patriotic duty to risk
nuclear war in the service of the leaders you elected twice.
Politicians and media all over the world constantly repeat the big lie,
and shape the way you think by showing you the material that will make
you think the way they want.
The following are some of the techniques
they use:-
- They don't give you the facts about nuclear
weapons, and the war strategies to use them, and the implications if
plans to use them proceed. It is a calculated omission of key information.
- They minimise or just don't publish criticism
of these policies and potential effects.
- They select articles to publish that
extol the virtues and repeat the lies justifying wars such as that waged
against Iraq and the war planned against Iran. They will tell you nothing
, zero, about the PNAC plan, designed well before 9/11, to wage an expanding
war throughout the middle east. Editors will stoutly claim that any
new wars happen as a result of terrorist action and that therefore any
Bush-type of reaction is justified.
It is this type of stupefying ignorance, this colossal arrogance, this
deep primordial desire for conquest and blood - oceans of it - that motivates
people to embrace the mad pre-emptive nuclear war doctrines of George
Bush.
Carol Moore shows many ways it could start.

A world nuclear war is one that involves
most or all nuclear powers releasing a large proportion of their nuclear
weapons at targets in nuclear, and perhaps non-nuclear, states. Such a
war could be initiated accidentally, aggressively or pre-emptively and
could continue and spread through these means or by retaliation by a party
attacked by nuclear weapons. While some speak of "limited nuclear
war," it is likely that any nuclear war will quickly escalate and
spiral out of control because of the "use them or loose them" strategy. If you don't use all your nuclear weapons you are likely to
have them destroyed by the enemy's nuclear weapons. continue.....
