US Preparing Second Genocide for Iran

Comment by Larry Ross, January 8, 2007

Bush is likely to escalate the war in Iraq with at least another 20,000 US troops, trashing all advice to the contrary from the Pentagon, top Republicans of the Iraq Study Group, the Democratic opposition, the military poll, and the overwhelming vote by the American people against Bush, the Republicans and their war.

Bush and his fanatical pro-Israeli neocons have captured US foreign policy and America's future. As mentioned by this and many other articles on this site, Bush is gunning for war with Iran. Each step he now takes to escalate the genocide in Iraq, is directed toward unleashing a war on Iran.

Paul Craig Roberts and many other Washington insiders believe Bush will use nuclear weapons against Iran. There is no other way his depleted and demoralised military can hope to defeat the well-armed and prepared Iran, other than with nuclear weapons.

It is a piece of gargantuan insanity, the biggest crime in history, the like of which this world has not seen since the US  nuclear bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945. This may turn out much worse in Iran , in terms of the millions of expected killed or dying in agony, and the long term effects from which the world may never recover. One such effect could be a general war of Western states against Islamic states, loss of vital oil supplies causing oil prices to soar beyond the reach of average income families, and so on.

It will be a huge mess spiralling upward and out of control. A general nuclear war that destroys all life cannot be ruled out. There are a number of factors which can contribute to triggering a global nuclear war.

One of the most amazing aspects of this crime is that it will be the result of an unscrupulous man, with his Machiavellian neo-conservatives, scheming to defraud the  America people and voting systems of their majority vote for Al Gore for President in 2000. Bush and his company of pirates cheated their way into power in 2000, and did it again in 2004. Thus an illegal regime, which has repeatedly lied to the American people about wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, and got away with the most horrendous series of crimes, is all set to do it again over war with Iran, but on a much bigger scale.

However this time the deception is likely to be far, far greater, with unthinkable far-reaching consequences. Bush and his neocons have a plan for Middle East domination using any means to attain that goal. Some may even believe in the sanctity, and heavenly sanction of their own lies.

I believe, as many articles in this site attest, that Bush will stage a 'False Flag' operation which will be an actual terrorist attack on the US, but blamed on Iran, in order that Bush can claim an excuse to use nuclear weapons against Iran. Once again Bush will get whatever he wants from the US Treasury. The Democrats will have little choice but to believe this latest colossal lie and vote to give Bush whatever he says he needs in his now revitalised  'global war on terrorism'. This will provide the pretext for Bush to complete his conversion of what remains of US democracy to a more outright fascism. It will all be done in the name of preserving 'our democracy and freedoms' and defeating the evil terrorists. He will remind people how he told them that Iran was part of an 'axis of evil' and now it was proved by Iran 's treacherous actions. So he will claim he is right and demand that the  US public support his long global war against international terrorism and his use of nuclear weapons, not only on Iran, but also on other enemies he may name.

The US Congress and Senate have already given Bush 'carte blanche' to make pre-emptive nuclear war against whomever he names. So it will be legal under US law for Bush to commence an action that kills many millions of people and leaves as many others dieing in slow agony. Few will express doubts and they will be smeared and won't be given the space required to document Bush's lies.  Bush's ever-obedient mass media will repeat his every lie and rubbish any doubts of explanations, particularly that Bush may have committed a giant fraud on the American people in order to get their support to make war on Iran with nuclear weapons. This carefully pre-planned operation is likely to develop with breathtaking speed, before potential opponents can organize effective opposition.

The American people and Democrats have not been forewarned about 'False Flags' and how Bush may use one to deceive them. Many believe he has already successfully used this technique, been believed, and then gone on to squander billions on illegal wars.

They are apt to believe the deception, and back Bushes action to use nuclear weapons to attack Iran , or at least quietly accept it, as they have accepted his previous lies and crimes. As with leading Democrats like Hillary Clinton, many accept and still repeat his Iraq war lies.

Concerned people can help prevent this major war, by researching the issue, then publicising the issue and dangers, by forwarding articles to people and politicians, by discussing the issues with others and many other ways. Protest after Bush launches a new war will be too late to stop the unfolding disaster.

The Surge: Political Cover or Escalation?

Paul Craig Roberts, " ICH", January 6, 2007

The new year began on the hopeful note that Bush's illegal war in Iraq would soon be ended. The repudiation of Bush and the Republicans in the November congressional election, the Iraq Study Group's unanimous conclusion that the US needs to remove its troops from the sectarian strife Bush set in motion by invading Iraq, Donald Rumsfeld's removal as defense secretary and his replacement by Iraqi Study Group member Robert Gates, the thumbs down given by America's top military commanders to the neoconservatives' plan to send more US troops to Iraq, and new polls of the US military that reveal that only a minority supports Bush's Iraq policy, thus giving new meaning to “support the troops,” are all indications that Americans have shed the stupor that has given carte blanche to George W. Bush.

When word leaked that Bush was inclined toward the “surge option” of committing more troops by keeping existing troops deployed in Iraq after their replacements had arrived, NBC News reported that an administration official “admitted to us today that this surge option is more of a political decision than a military one.” It is a clear sign of exasperation with Bush when an administration official admits that Bush is willing to sacrifice American troops and Iraqi civilians in order to protect his own delusions.

The American establishment, concerned by Bush's egregious mismanagement, moved to take control of Iraq policy away from him. However, recent news reports and analysis suggest that Bush has turned his back to the American establishment and his military advisers and is throwing in his lot with the neoconservatives and the Israeli lobby. This will further isolate Bush and make him more vulnerable to impeachment.

In the January 5 issue of CounterPunch John Walsh gives a good description of the struggle between the American establishment and the neocons.

Peter Spiegel, the Pentagon correspondent for the Los Angeles Times, reported on January 4 that the neocons have used the failure of the administration's policy in Iraq to convince Bush to launch an aggressive counterinsurgency requiring the buildup of troop levels by extending deployments beyond the agreed terms.
