Terrorism Law Rejected - For Now
Comment by Larry
Ross, November 15, 2005
Blair's bid to allow police to hold terrorist suspects
for up to 90 days without charge has failed in Parliament.
If it had been 28 days, or even 60 days the bill might have approved by
Parliament according to the following report which also said 64% of the
public supported this severe attack on British civi liberties.
These figures show that the majority of UK MPs and public have accepted
Tony Blair's lies justifying the UK's support for George Bush's so-called
"war on terrorism" and illegal war on Iraq. The Nazi-like tactics
used by US and UK forces in Iraq - the false imprisonment, shaming, torture,
even murder, and mass bombing using anti-civilian weapons like phosphorous
bombs and cluster bombs have caused Iraq to become a breeding ground to
create more opposition. Blair and Bush then label this opposition as "terrorist"
and twist it to justify continuation of their illegal war.
People have forgotten, disregard or accepted Blair's and Bush's lies accusing
Iraq of having weapons of mass destruction, having and/or close to having
nuclear weapons, planning to attack the US and/or UK and others, having
links with Al-Qaeda and Osama Bin Laden, supporting international terrorism,
importing nuclear material from Niger, etc. These are well-known and documented
lies designed by Blair and Bush to fool their people and parliaments in
order to lead their nations to war. This in turn has resulted in British,
American and Australian troops directly, or indirectly, supporting the
continuing killing and maiming thousands of innocent people. This barbarous
slaughter has gone on since 2003, long after the above initial accusations
have been revealed as lies created to start the war. Yet the media, M.P.s,
Senators and Congressmen, with few exceptions, continue to support this
slaughter, pretending that the original lies are still valid.
The U.K. M.P.s expect to be praised for only wanting 28 days detention
of suspects instead of 90 days!
Bush and Blair even threatened to use nuclear weapons if Iraq used chemical
weapons to defend itself. John Howard of Australia, the media and the
majority of people in the U.S., U.K. and Australia had no objection to
them taking such a step, based on lies, even though it could lead to the
hideous death of their children and themselves in a global holocaust.
Surely this shows the power of 'the big lie' technique, applied in our
modern democracies by psywar specialists and PR spin-doctors, to easily
lead people to their own potential doomsday.
People forget, disregard, or do not understand the significance of the
fact that these men, and John Howard of Australia, are war criminals who
should be charged and tried before the International Criminal Court. But
most people live in a state of media-conditioned ignorance, thus enabling
these war criminals to continue leading our Western Democracies.
Deliberately starting a pre-planned illegal war based on using a series
of lies for justification, is a very, very serious crime, and defined
as such by both domestic and international law and international efforts
such as The Nuremberg Tribunal. The perpetrators should be caught and
tried before they do more damage. Unfortunately their lies still succeed
in fooling enough people and fellow Parliamentarians, to embolden them
to continue in office and do more of the same. Anti-terrorism laws in
the US, UK and Australia are one way the war criminals have of trying
to legitimise and normalise their crimes and creating the legal means
of silencing and intimidating their critics. As well, the laws allow wide
ranging imprisonment of anyone the government decides should be accused
and silenced without charge or trial. Tony Blair must feel very confident
that his lies have been accepted and that he can get away with sweeping
aside in one stroke, the long process of achieving our civil liberties.
Tony Blair is demonstrating how easy it is to convert Britain into a '1984'
Orwell state. Although he has been set back on 90 day imprisonment for
suspects, the report shows support for a lesser time.
This may be his next objective.
The tactics of Bush and Blair has been to create more terrorism, even
civil war in Iraq, to justify their continued presence there and the building
of permanent US military bases. A constant flow of more lies is required
to justify continued occupation. Opposition actions are defined by the
war criminals as 'terrorist incidents', and used by them to justify their
own barbarous military action. This continues to worsen the situation
in Iraq and stimulate more opposition. Bush, Blair, Howard et al then
use these 'terrorist' incidents to justify their initial invasion, continuing
occupation and murder of opponents.
The war criminals wont stop as long as people agree to be fooled and agree
not to 'connect the dots' to see the obvious. "Endless war"
is what Bush promised, and that's what he will deliver, so long as enough
people are fooled. The necessary incidents to justify it will likely happen,
as the 9/11 attack happened and was used as the basis to create a litany
of lies to justify the Iraq war.
It is very clear, that the public needs a massive educational effort by
top experts and speakers using every means of modern communication on
the truths of our perilous situation. I think that would motivate enough
people to stop Bush, Blair and Howard from committing more and perhaps
far worse war crimes. Unless quick action is taken we are unlikely to
be able stop the deterioration to more wars and worse disasters.

Blair faces
terrorism vote showdown
From The christchurch Press, November
10, 2005
British Prime Minister Tony
Blair was due to risk his first major defeat in parliament overnight (NZT)
in a bid to allow police to hold terrorist suspects for up to 90 days
without charge.
Ministers were forced last week
to shelve the same plan when it became clear rebels in Blair's Labour
Party were poised to join opposition parties to vote against it in the
elected lower chamber, the House of Commons.
As national elections in May slashed Blair's
parliamentary majority to 66 - meaning fewer than 40 Labour members can
defeat him by voting with the opposition - the vote will be tight and
his opponents are standing firm.
"We have consistently said that a 28-day
period of detention is the maximum period that we would support,"
said Michael Howard, leader of the main opposition Conservative Party.
