Setting the Stage For WWIII

Comment by Larry Ross, February 21, 2006

Heather Wokusch gives a very good analysis in her following article of how the Bush Administration is inventing a false story about Iran making nuclear weapons to threaten the U.S. and Israel. Even though the US and Israel surround Iran with thousands of nuclear weapons that could destroy Iran in a few hours, if Iran ever attacked either nation. It seems crazy that Americans would believe such drivel, but most of them are well-conditioned by a co-operative mass media to believe whatever the Bush Administration tells them.

The purpose is to create a groundswell of public opinion that will support a U.S. war on Iran.

Of very great interest is the ex-CIA agent revelation of U.S. plans to use another 9/11 type of attack, as a justification for a war on Iran, as the 9/11 attack in 2001 was used to justify the U.S. illegal war on Iraq. As with the Iraq war, no believable proof will be offered that Iran was in any way responsible. Nevertheless the Pentagon said that a new 9/11 attack would be used to justify the war on Iran.

A new 9/ll event in the U.S. would serve a number of important war purposes.

Osama Bin-Laden - Right On Schedule

As if on schedule, and dovetailing with U.S. war on Iran plans, Osama bin-Laden is reported to have warned that al-Qaeda will soon be launching new attacks on U.S. territory. Bin Laden was a long time CIA crony and asset in their war against Russia in Afghanistan. As the supposed major architect for the 9/11 attack and the "US Public Enemy No 1", why has the multi-billion dollar U.S. intelligence machine been unable to find him after 4-5 years? Is it because he is valued as an important contributor to the U.S. war machine? If he provided the 9/11 "Pearl Harbour" which Bush need to justify his phoney war on Iraq, is a new Bin Laden terrorist 9/11 to be used as justification for the new war on Iran?

1) Another 9/11-type attack could be used to justify a war with Iran - even though Iran had nothing to do with it. Iraq had nothing to do with the 9/11 attack in 2001, but 9/11 was used by the Bush Administration to justify the war which Bush has intensified. The lies worked. They still work. Bush & Co. believe that new giant lies will work as well.

2) New draconian 'Patriot' type laws to suppress dissent and questioning and strengthen police power to deal with those who protest or question.

3) Control of the mid-east oil resources, setting the prices and maintaining dollar control - even though oil shipments may be temporarily interrupted. Unbelievable wealth is possible.

4) Virtually unlimited access to the U.S. Treasury for Bush's wars.

5) The end of what little Democratic opposition there has been to Bush's phoney wars.

6)Already Bush has given himself despotic powers. A new attack would allow him to increase these.

However as Workusch documents so well, our world and civilization is at grave risk as Bush's new phoney war on Iran, involves other nuclear weapon states such as Russia, China and others. Her warning should be taken very seriously and acted on now - before events render any protest action of little value.

WWIII or Bust: Implications of a US Attack on Iran

by Heather Wokusch

"This notion that the United States is getting ready to attack Iran is simply ridiculous... Having said that, all options are on the table." George W. Bush, February 2005

Witnessing the Bush administration's drive for an attack on Iran is like being a passenger in a car with a raving drunk at the wheel. Reports of impending doom surfaced a year ago, but now it's official: under orders from Vice President Cheney's office, the Pentagon has developed "last resort" aerial-assault plans using long-distance B2 bombers and submarine-launched ballistic missiles with both conventional and nuclear weapons.

How ironic that the Pentagon proposes using nuclear weapons on the pretext of protecting the world from nuclear weapons. Ironic also that Iran has complied with its obligations under the Non-Proliferation Treaty, allowing inspectors to "go anywhere and see anything," yet those pushing for an attack, the USA and Israel, have not.
