Roberts Claims Bush Will Nuclear Bomb Iran

Comment by Larry Ross, December 15, 2006

Email to Paul Craig Roberts agreeing with his analysis but I think it could be strengthened by included a 'False Flag' scenario as to how Bush will make an attack on Iran credible and acceptable to Americans and others, particularly his probable use of nuclear weapons.

Hello Paul Craig Roberts,

I really admire your work and have posted many of your articles on our Nuclear Free New Zealand website: http://www.nuclearfree.org.nz

When I Googled "Bush Armageddon Delusions" I found your article among 149,000 others. Many also looked very promising but I selected yours first.

I agree completely with your article but I have a suggestion that may add more power to your analysis.

It's to add a 'False Flag' scenario to your basic thesis.

I believe that the Bush Administration will stage a 'False Flag' operation to add credibility and substance to its argument that Iran is a threat to the US .

The staged 'False Flag' is likely to involve an alleged real terrorist attack on the US , which the Bush Administration will blame on Iran . If the attack is of 9/11 magnitude or greater, Bush will have created the excuse he needs to attack Iran , even using nuclear weapons. Most Americans will believe the fraud and approve the use of nuclear weapons on Iran . They would never believe that Bush would do this to his own people.

But with his present popularity so low (about 30%) he needs another 9/11 type of event to frighten and persuade Americans that he is the leader best able to "win the war against terrorism". His popularity will soar again and people will forget his sins and crimes. If he doesn't postpone the 2008 election in order to stay in power, his chosen candidate will surely get elected - perhaps with the help of the voting machine 'fixers' if needed. There would be large scale media approval of Bush's actions and blanket belief in the official story that Iran did it. Most Americans, now conditioned as they are, would also believe it. The pro-war propaganda would be huge and I don't think alternative theories, such as a Bush-engineered 'False Flag' would be published, let alone be believed. Bush would have no trouble pushing through new draconian legislation to increase his power, including measures to stifle dissent and prevent the truth from getting out.

It all depends on the American people believing Bush's big lie, as they believed his lies about Iraq . 'False Flag' operations have been used by many leaders since 1600 to persuade people that their country has been attacked by the chosen enemy, in order that the leader may blame 'the enemy' and proceed with popular support to make war on that enemy. Hitler's 'False Flag' may have been the most famous with his burning of the Reichstag to justify his dictatorship and world war II. But the US is believed to have used it also in the Gulf of Tonkin in 1965, to justify bombing North Vietnam . In 1962 the Joint Chiefs approved "Operation Northwood's" which was to be a 'False Flag' attack on the US , to be blamed on Castro, in order to justify a war on Cuba . Luckily President Kennedy did not approve this plan. It's all on Google if you search "False Flag Operations"

My belief is that the only way to stop a possible Bush plan of this type is to educate Americans about 'False Flag' usage in the past, and that Bush may use such a technique to fool Americans into supporting a nuclear war on Iran . I really don't see how else he can get away with doing it, and convincing allies and the rest of the world that he did the right thing. Unless pre-warned about this possibility, even the Japanese might go along with a believable 'False Flag' blamed on Iran to justify the US use of nuclear weapons in retaliation.

My view is that as time is very limited, a massive information/advertising campaign is needed, involving full page ads, TV commercials and the like to warn Americans and others about this possibility, if not probability.

I doubt if US mass media would run informative articles on the subject, unless a number of well-known Americans get involved.

My best wishes for your continuing good work. If you have the time, please let me know your opinions on my 'False Flag' prediction. If I can help, I will.

Sincerely,
Larry Ross

Bush's Armageddon Wish

A Final End to History?

by Paul Craig Roberts, June 12, 2006

The neocons believe that the use of nukes will convince Arabs and the wider world that there is no recourse to accepting America's will. John Bolton, a notorious neocon warmonger who could not be confirmed as America's ambassador to the UN by even the compliant and corrupt US Senate, got the job as a recess appointment. He is using the platform to push America into war with Iran.

Bolton told the Financial Times (June 9) that the Bush Regime has no intention of reaching an agreement with Iran. Time is running out for diplomacy, Bolton told the Financial Times . Iran has a short time remaining in which it can give up its right under the non-proliferation treaty to enrich uranium for nuclear energy or be attacked. Bolton said that US security guarantees for Iran "were not on the table."

There is no evidence that Iran has a nuclear weapons program. Every physicist knows that the enrichment requirement for weapons is many times greater than for nuclear energy and that Iran can barely achieve the latter. Despite the facts, Bolton told the Financial Times : "They've [Iran] got both feet on the accelerator, which is why we have a sense of urgency. Each day that goes by gives Iran more time to continue to perfect its efforts for mass production."

Bolton is lying through his teeth. Bush Regime lies about Iraqi weapons of mass destruction and propagandistic references to mushroom clouds convinced the befuddled American public to accept an illegal invasion of Iraq. The same collection of neocon war criminals is again deceiving the American public about Iran.
