Continuing Democracy or Fascism for America?

Bush's 'National Security Presidential Directive' (below) sets the stage for Bush to impose harsh fascist controls on what's left of American Democracy, after there is another US disaster like the 9/11 attack. He certainly used the 9/11 attack in 2001 to justify imposing various steps toward fascism, such as the US Patriot laws, various Presidential directives, the new permissive nuclear war doctrines and legislation that gives him the right to wage a pre-emptive nuclear war against any nation he and his administration choose to name as an enemy of the US. He can also name and imprison anyone he names as an 'enemy combatant's. Critics beware. Remember what Bush warned in 2003: "You are either with us or with the terrorists". In other words if you don't back Bush and his illegal wars based on lies you can be classed as 'with the terrorists' and therefore labelled as "an enemy combatant". Now Bush has taken this important next step, he is well along the way to being able to impose complete fascism as described in the article "10 Steps To Fascism" on our website: http://nuclearfreenz.org.nz All he needs is a suitable incident, like a new 9/11 or some other catastrophe. How he engineers what may be a new 'false flag' incident will be debated for years, as questions about the 9/11 attack are now debated even though suppressed by most media and commentators. Most articles that touch on the subject of 9/11 are careful to discount so-called dreaded 'conspiracy theories' about the facts on the 9/11 attack. Most people are happy to accept government lies and cover-ups, as they accept government lies on how the Iraq war started, and are now accepting Government lies laying the grounds to justify a war with Iran . Although most Americans are sick of Bush, his popularity may go up again if he suddenly is portrayed as the latter-day saviour of Americans from Iranian terrorism. We can expect most mass media in the US and elsewhere only to portray the events as given by the Bush Administration and its propaganda departments and suppress or discount alternative explanations or warnings. A new 9/11 attack, or other catastrophe, will give Bush the crisis base he needs to make operational his new 'National Security Presidential Directive'. Then he can justify declaring a state of emergency, conscription and shut down of any critics, questions, and even harsher treatment of serious dissenters - such as imprisonment in the 'bright and shining' new Federal prisons built by Chaney's favourite corporation - Halliburton. Given the behaviour of Americans so far, and the Congressional and public reactions to the 9/11 attack, the Iraq war, the widely trumpeted plans for a war with Iran, and Congressional capitulation to Bush's veto on any US troop withdrawal deadlines from Iraq, we can expect mass American reactions to be the same toward any new crisis and Bush's responses to it. The propaganda agencies of the Bush Administration, always echoed by US and many foreign mass media, are certainly successful in manipulating and conditioning the American, and allied, mass minds. What can we do? A mass education campaign is needed directed at Americans about the realities of current events and how they are being lied to and conned, and Bush's plans for more and much worse of the same. The entire conspiracy and multiple crimes and evils of the Bush Administration are well-documented. It should be studied by all thinking Americans and friends of America , who wish to preserve American democracy from endless wars and a decline into fascism. Campaign sponsors are vitally needed, and a creative organising group to design and implement an educational plan dealing with the 'Today's and Tomorrow's Crisis Realities'. With scarcely a mention in the mainstream media, President Bush has ordered up a plan for responding to a catastrophic attack. In a new National Security Presidential Directive, Bush lays out his plans for dealing with a “catastrophic emergency.”Under that plan, he entrusts himself with leading the entire federal government, not just the Executive Branch. And he gives himself the responsibility “for ensuring constitutional government.” He laid this all out in a document entitled " National Security Presidential Directive /NSPD 51" and "Homeland Security Presidential Directive/HSPD-20." The White House released it on May 9. Other than a discussion on Daily Kos led off by a posting by Leo Fender, and a pro-forma notice in a couple of mainstream newspapers, this document has gone unremarked upon. The subject of the document is entitled “National Continuity Policy.” It defines a “catastrophic emergency” as “any incident, regardless of location, that results in extraordinary levels of mass casualties, damage, or disruption severely affecting the U.S. population, infrastructure, environment, economy, or government function.” |
