Ignore This at Our Peril

Comment by Larry Ross, April 29, 2007

In previous comments and articles I and others expressed the view that the Bush regime would stage a False Flag Event to provide an excuse and justification to attack Iran. This is the most authoritative warning so far by Zbigniew Brzezinski, “who has decades pf experience in the top echelons of US foreign policy establishment, ...the closest links to the military and to intelligence agencies" Paul Watson writes. That he said it at an open hearing of the US Senate has immense and grave significance. That Bush and Blair discussed on Jan 31, 2003 ways a False Flag could be used to provide an excuse to start the war on Iraq is a precedent. With the 9/11 attack behind them, they both used a lot of new lies, claims and accusations to link Saddam with the 9/11 attack, Bin-Laden, Al-Qaeda, WMD and working to produce nuclear weapons. It all worked like a dream for Bush and Blair. So they may think: why not do it again to justify attacking Iran ? The lies and accusations have been made and the UN was pressured into a Security Council resolution calling on Iran to stop it's enrichment of uranium (A NPT legal right).

All that is needed as Brzezinski warned is "a staged provocation in Iraq or a false flag terror attack within the US ".

Given these dire warnings about something that could spiral into a World War III or endless wider wars with disastrous horrific consequences, why do people seem so unconcerned? I think that one reason is that the media are refusing to feature the subject. As most people do not follow developments on internet, most have no idea about Bush's threat to wage a pre-emptive nuclear war on Iran . I know most have never heard about 'False Flag' operations" because when I asked them about this during my Sept-Oct 2006 lecture tour of New Zealand , few had even heard about 'False Flag' operations. So very, very few know that the US has staged 'false flag' events before and that they have been used extensively by Governments since 1,600 A.D.

If they don't know about 'false flags' and the media won't warn them, they are much more apt to believe the official story if Bush uses a false flag to justify a new war.

There are a number of reasons why Bush will use this evil trickery to deceive the American and world public into another big war, such as boosting his popularity and support for his wars, and being able to accelerate his programme of "Fascism in America - In Ten Easy Steps".

The media is repeating Bush regime lies about Iran like they repeated Bush lies before he attacked Iraq . They have never admitted or apologised for their deceitful role as Bush cheer leaders and propagandists.

I don't think Brzezinski issued a "threat rather than a warning" as Paul Watson suggests. I would class it as a serious, informed warning that Brzezinski would never have made unless he believed that this is the way the Bush regime would launch their long-planned pre-emptive attack on Iran.

Brzezinski Suggests False Flag Event Could Kick-Start Iran War

Top globalist warns Congress of provocation or terrorist attack inside U.S.

by Paul Joseph Watson, Prison Planet, February 6, 2007

Former National Security Advisor and founding member of the Trilateral Commission Zbigniew Brzezinski tacitly warned a Senate Foreign Relations Committee last week that an attack on Iran could be launched following a staged provocation in Iraq or a false flag terror attack within the U.S.

Brzezinski alluded to the potential for the Bush administration to manufacture a false flag Gulf of Tonkin type incident in describing a "plausible scenario for a military collision with Iran," which would revolve around "some provocation in Iraq or a terrorist act in the US blamed on Iran, culminating in a ‘defensive' US military action against Iran that plunges a lonely America into a spreading and deepening quagmire eventually ranging across Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan.”

Brzezinski was careful to highlight the word "defensive" as if to discount its credibility, suggesting that the Bush White House itself would be behind the attack or provocation and subsequently use it as a pretext for war.

"That a man such as Brzezinski, with decades of experience in the top echelons of the US foreign policy establishment, a man who has the closest links to the military and to intelligence agencies, should issue such a warning at an open hearing of the US Senate has immense and grave significance," argues WSWS.org .

After Senators asked Brzezinski for clarification of exactly what he meant, the Polish-American political scientist referenced the infamous White House memo in which Bush and Blair discussed staging a provocation for an invasion of Iraq following the absence of weapons of mass destruction. Brzezinski cited how Bush "described the several ways in which this could be done," but refused to elaborate, stating only, "the ways were quite sensational, at least one of them."
