A Breath
of Reality
Comment by Larry Ross, August 23, 2005
Cindy Sheehan spells out the truth
and reality of Iraq and Bushites as never before. Just what America
desparately needs right now - a dose of reality to cut through
tons of lies endlessly repeated by Bush's cheerleading mass media.

Magnifies Fissures on Iraq

The fact that Sheehan's message has caught fire has as much to do
with the political climate as it does with her personal campaign.
NPR.org, August 23, 2005 · If Cindy Sheehan's peace vigil outside
President Bush's ranch has demonstrated nothing else, it has shown that
the politics of war can be treacherous. And it doesn't matter which side
you're on.
For the president, Sheehan has been a daily reminder that he can no longer
take for granted backing from a crucial constituency -- military communities.
It has also underscored the weakening of support for the war effort among
Democrats and Republicans alike.

Weekly Offers Up-Close Coverage of Sheehan Protest
by Lesley Messer August10, 2005
NEW YORK Cindy Sheehan, the mother of a U.S. soldier who died in Iraq
last April, is making headlines this week for camping outside President
Bushs Texas ranch until he meets with her to discuss the ongoing
war. The Lone Star Iconoclast, a weekly based in Bushs hometown
of Crawford, Texas -- previously best known for endorsing Sen. John Kerry
for president last year -- has devoted a great deal of time and effort
documenting nearly every moment of Sheehans protest on its Web site,
in story, picture and blog form.

Sheehan: 'I am not the issue'
By LANCE GAY

- Cindy Sheehan says she's tried to keep
the focus of her protest on the immorality of the war in Iraq, but she's
found this month that it's difficult to keep the spotlight off herself.
"I am not the issue," she said
on her Web blog. "The issue is a disastrous war that's killing our
sons and daughters and making our country less secure. They attack me
because they can no longer defend this war."
