A Word to the BBC - Stop Perpetuating Bush Lies

from Anna Allan, February 14, 2007

When I grew up in England the BBC was truthful, impartial and fair - I believed this and so did everyone else. The BBC was looked up to as an entity you could TRUST.

During this last week I have witnessed yet again the BBC News repeating Bush lies about "The Iranian Nuclear Weapons" and the "The Iranian Nuclear Weapons Policies". These are figments of Bush's imagination, part of his insane scheme for world domination. You refer to these weapons as if they were a matter of fact and in existence and so instill the lie in peoples' minds as truth.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has stated that there are no nuclear weapons or plans for them in Iran. No evidence has been discovered as with Iraqi WMD. It is US and UK propaganda and by perpetuating these lies the BBC is participating, collaborating, aiding and abetting the murder of innocent people in the Middle East and demonizing them to the world.

Do you really need a war in Iran as well to keep the news flowing in? Aren't the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan sensational enough for you?

Start broadcasting some facts. These are much more shocking. See articles on http://www.nuclearfree.org.nz if you need to find a place to start. There are so many amazing stories with plenty of evidence from people in the know.

Please stop repeating the lies of Bush & Co. as if this is the truth because they are only fooling the American public into supporting their warmongering. But you know this. Don't you?

Be more aware of the smile on your faces when reading out details of atrocities as though they were football results. They may be "foreigners” you are reading about but they are no different to us. It is your livelihood but their lives you are reporting on.

Find the few reporters with balls and support these courageous people with integrity. Give them the credit they are due for risking so much to expose the truth. Some have already died doing this for humanity (and in very suspicious ways). They are out there doing the dirty work for you in your cosy offices/studios. Serve the public better, be brave and honest. Be truthful – other peoples lives depend on it.

If it were not for the lies about WMD in Iraq, Blair would not have been able to make it possible for Bush to invade Iraq and then there would not have been the London bombings.

Everything we do has some consequence for which we are responsible.

I would very much like to be proud of being British again. Please, be responsible. Help the peace plan instead of aiding the war-gamers.

Hopefully,

Anna Allan
