Democrats Okay Bush War with Iran Comment by Larry Ross, March 14, 2007
The Democrats have given a green light to Bush in his preparations to make war on Iran on the grounds that Iran is, or may become in the future, a nuclear threat to Israel. Every serious observer of the Middle East situation knows that the excuses and justifications for a US-Israel war with Iran are completely phony and based on lies. These can all be checked out on our website http://www.nuclearfree.org.nz or a Google search. They are:
What you are seeing below, is the Democratic acceptance and capitulation to all the lies, false accusations and war propaganda of the Bush regime. They have given Bush a green light to do as he pleases and they will approve funds, both for the new 'surge' of US troops into Iraq and the planned war on Iran. But do they know, care, or even give a damn about the possible consequences? These are:
Hitler said in Mien Kemp: "The bigger the lie the more people will believe it". Unfortunately the Hitler method worked well for Bush's Iraq war. The Democrats and many in the population accept the lies and pretend they are valid and true. They refuse to question and express doubt about the lies the Bush regime told them to get their support for war. They refuse to admit that the Bush regime has committed grave crimes against the US Constitution, International law, The Nuremberg Judgements and the UN Charter. If they admitted that Bush had committed these serious crimes, they would have to impeach him immediately before he could carry on doing more damage and threatening the world. They lack the courage to do that and many are far too compromised. Because the potential consequences are so devastating for everyone, the dangers are extreme that the expanded wars will draw in some of the other nuclear weapon states. There are a total of nine including China and Russia who have strong links to Iran and depend on its oil supplies. Thus a much larger international nuclear war is not only possible, but likely. If that happens, there could be billions of casualties, and an end to civilization as we know it. There is more than enough, nuclear, chemical, germ weapons to kill the world's population many times over. During the last 62 nuclear weapon years as the arsenals of weapons, missiles and other delivery systems have multiplied to different countries, it has almost happened during several crises such as the Cuban missile crisis. Top government nuclear strategists have said it's only a miracle that it didn't happen. I wonder why top politicians in the US and other countries, top military people, government executives and ordinary informed citizens, don't speak out and take action before it's too late, to Impeach Bush before he starts a new war that could easily escalate and destroy our world. The only chance to do something constructive to prevent this disaster is before Bush starts it. That's now. Once started, it's too late. No turning the clock back. The war momentum will take over then and a series of devastating disasters will rapidly follow.

Dems Abandon War Authority Provision by David Espo and Matthew Lee, The Associated Press, March 13, 2007 Officials said Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other members of the leadership had decided to strip from a major military spending bill a requirement for Bush to gain approval from Congress before moving against Iran. Conservative Democrats as well as lawmakers concerned about the possible impact on Israel had argued for the change in strategy. The developments occurred as Democrats pointed toward an initial test vote in the House Appropriations Committee on Thursday on the overall bill, which would require the withdrawal of U.S. combat troops from Iraq by Sept. 1, 2008, if not earlier. The measure provides nearly $100 billion to pay for fighting in two wars, and includes more money than the president requested for operations in Afghanistan and what Democrats called training and equipment shortages. The White House has issued a veto threat against the bill, and Vice President Dick Cheney attacked its supporters in a speech, declaring they "are telling the enemy simply to watch the clock and wait us out." House GOP Leader John Boehner of Ohio issued a statement that said Democrats shouldn't count on any help passing their legislation. "Republicans will continue to stand united in this debate, and will oppose efforts by Democrats to undermine the ability of General Petraeus and our troops to achieve victory in the Global War on Terror," he said. Top Democrats had a different perspective. Pelosi issued a written statement that said the vice president's remarks prove that "the administration's answer to continuing violence in Iraq is more troops and more treasure from the American people." |
