Bush Regime Worsens Guantanamo Bay Conditions
Comment by Larry Ross, April 6, 2007
Guantanamo Bay and similar US prisons in countries using torture, are an important part of the Bush regime's plan for US global domination.
The destruction of civil rights, habeas corpus, imprisonment with our charge or trial, torture, rendition and murder are indications that Bush is introducing fascist-type controls in the US.
Guantanamo Bay and similar US prisons are established to spread hatred and fear of the US , make new enemies and terrorise the world's population. The creation of new enemies helps provide the justifications for new wars and draconian domestic legislation to police, spy on and control the US population. Bush's 'Patriot" acts are a good example of where the Bush regime wants to take American Democracy. New enemies will produce excuses for new wars. Every bullet that is fired and bomb that is dropped is profits in the bottomless pockets of the military-industrial-congressional complex that has become America. Enemies are good for business and high profits.
The worsening of conditions in Guantanamo is Bush's answer to his critics. He seems to believe he is invincible and above the law and civilized standards of behaviour.
The important factors that are missed by most critics are; (1) that Bush's presidency is very probably based on electoral fraud in 2000 and 2004. (2) That Bush has lied to the US people in order to get their support for his war on Iraq in which over 600,000+ Iraqis have been murdered and many more wounded. (3) These are international war crimes and crimes against the US Constitution and UN Charter. (4) These crimes alone mean he should be imprisoned, rather than lead the most powerful nation on earth, and control the use of enough nuclear weapons to end life on earth. (5) But there is so much more - bigger and darker crimes (6) That the Bush regime staged the 9/11 attack to mobilize and control the people, and provide justifications for their pre-planned wars against Afghanistan, Iraq and soon, Iran. (7) That makes the entire terrorist threat and perpetual wars on terror part of the criminal plan to rule America and create a global empire. (8) Whether you believe that (6) and (7) are correct or not, the Bush regime has grossly over-reacted and inflated the 9/11 attack and used it to create lies and controls that conned the American public into supporting the pre-planned wars.
It's very difficult to deal with a regime like this and pretend it's a normal government. The Bush regime is unlikely to have second thoughts about any of their criminal plans. Massive criticism by the highest US authorities, and rejection by the people, has not changed the delusions of the Bush neocon regime.
In fact, they may well think that their salvation lies in ever larger wars that justify ever more oppressive controls over the domestic population. It looks very much as if they are willing to risk ending the world in order to implement their plans.

Guantanamo conditions 'worsening'
BBC News ,
April 4, 2007
Conditions for detainees at the US military jail at Guantanamo Bay are deteriorating, with the majority held in solitary confinement, a report says.
Amnesty International said the often harsh and inhumane conditions at the camp were "pushing people to the edge". It called for the facility to be closed and for plans for "unfair" military commission trials to be abandoned.
Many of the 385 inmates have been held for five years or more, unable to mount a legal challenge to their detention.
Some of Guantanamo's inmates have been held for five years "While the United States has an obligation to protect its citizens... that does not relieve the United States from its responsibilities to comply with human rights," the report said.
"Some inmates are dangerously close to full-blown mental and physical breakdown" - UK director Kate Allen Amnesty International "Statements by the Bush administration that these men are 'enemy combatants,' 'terrorists' or 'very bad people' do not justify the complete lack of due process rights," the group said. Amnesty reiterated its call for detainees at the prison camp in Cuba - many of whom are suspected Taleban and al-Qaeda fighters - to be released or charged and sent to trial.
'Already in despair'
The report, published on Thursday, said about 300 detainees are now being held at a new facility - known as Camp 5, Camp 6 and Camp Echo - comparable to "super-max" high security units in the US.
