War
With Iran? - The Most Important Peace Issue by Larry

Many Americans and others are deeply concerned that the U.S. Administration is planning a war with Iran . Many experts (see following) predict a nuclear war. Like the Iraq war it is part of the Bush/Neo-con plan to dominate the middle east and world oil resources planned several years before the 9/11 attack. There is much more involved as indicated in some of the following papers and references. Pretexts for war are easy to invent and will be believed by most of the American public (with media support), as demonstrated by their belief in the litany of lies used to justify the war on Iraq. The NZ media tends to echo conservative and corporate U.S./Australian/UK media, justify U.S. war policies and severely limit rational discussion and doubts about the issues and the dangers. They seldom print or report vitally important news, letters and views about US wars, US war plans, and related issues. Editors distract the public with exhaustive reports on the antics of so-called "celebrities", the latest crime news, local news, and sports news. The alleged nuclear threat from Iran is being used as a pretext and excuse to justify war, as was the alleged nuclear threat from Saddam Hussein's Iraq, to justify the war on Iraq. No 'WMD or nuclear weapons were found. But amazing as it may seem, people and mass media are still willing to believe the Bush Administration when it claims Iran is a nuclear threat to the US and to it's "friends and allies". Iran has no nuclear weapons and can be annihilated by U.S. and Israeli nuclear weapons. The last thing it would do is commit national suicide by attacking either state. The IAEA has been closely inspecting Iran for years and reported to the UN there is "no evidence of a nuclear weapons program or any diversion of nuclear material". That does not stop the Bushcons from making their deceitful accusations or stop a massive media blitz to frighten people about Iran and whip them into war fever. The big lie, endlessly repeated - works. 47% of Americans now believe the U.S. should bomb Iran to prevent it from getting nuclear weapons. Too many people only see repetitive media Bushcon lies about Iran, rather than the proven experts below. These are not printed by mass media in the US. Unless the Pentagon and the Bush Administration are stopped, their actions may trigger a wider nuclear war which can kill millions. Nuclear weapons used on Iran can quickly expand into a global holocaust. Among many thorough and expert articles predicting nuclear weapons use against Iran is: NUCLEAR
WAR AGAINST IRAN He said the U.S. is
co-ordinating the coming bomb attacks on Iran. Also "Prime
Minister Ariel Sharon (before his illness) has given a green light
to the Israeli Armed Forces to launch attacks by the end of March,
2006". Chossudovsky claims: "No dissenting political voices have emerged from within the European Union" and that "Washington has been building "a consensus" both within the Atlantic Alliance and the UN Security Council. This consensus pertains to the conduct of a nuclear war." He says: "The antiwar movement has swallowed the media lies. The fact that the US and Israel are planning a Middle East nuclear holocaust is not part of the anti-war/anti-globalisation agenda." "The war agenda
is based on the Bush administration's doctrine of "pre-emptive
" nuclear war under the 2002 Nuclear Posture Review." "The military manuals state that this new generation of nuclear weapons are "safe" for use in the battlefield. They are no longer a weapon of last resort. There are no impediments or political obstacles to their use" he wrote. "The international
community has endorsed nuclear war in the name of World Peace.
Making the world safer is the justification for launching a military
operation which could potentially result in a nuclear holocaust"
he wrote. "The Joint Functional
Component Command Space and Global Strike, or JFCCSGS has the
mandate to oversee the launching of a nuclear attack in accordance
with the 2002 Nuclear Posture Review, (NPR) approved by the US
Congress in 2002. The NPR underscores the pre-emptive use of nuclear
warheads not only against "rogue states" but also against
China and Russia". Chossudovsky recommends: " What is needed in the months ahead is a major thrust, nationally and internationally which breaks the conspiracy of silence, which acknowledges the dangers, which brings this war project to the forefront of political debate and media attention at all levels, which confronts and requires political and military leaders to take a firm stance against the US sponsored nuclear war" "Ultimately what
is required are extensive international sanctions directed against
the United States of America and Israel" Time is running out as Bush has stepped up his verbal denunciations of Iran to frighten people into supporting his war plans. If history is any guide, Bush can look forward to at least a 30% boost in his declining popularity ratings (now at 34%) if he starts a war, and if his justifications for doing so are convincing and are not allowed to be questioned or challenged by the US mass media. If some of this seems just too crazy to believe, please give it some more study and thought before you delete. The mass of evidence, testimony and analysis "connecting the dots" is overwhelming. The following "Body of Secrets" book is a bombshell even more astonishing and hard to believe. But it must be included because it shows the methodology of how the Bush Administration might justify nuclear war on Iran and get away with it - as they have with the astonishing litany of lies to justify the Iraq war. This is not a once-only event. This evil and nefarious technique known today as "Operation Northwood's" has been used before, a number of times. BODY OF SECRETS, a book by James Bamford, Doubleday 2001. From page 82 he tells about the Pentagon's infamous "Operation Northwood's". Bamford claims that in 1962, under "Operation Northwood's the Pentagon planned fake terror attacks on citizens to create support for a war on Cuba, who was to be blamed for the terror attacks." This shows the method the Bush Administration may use to create a "Pearl Harbour" or "Gulf of Tonkin" event to anger the American people by staging another 9/11 "terrorist attack" on America. A blanket mass media campaign would faithfully report that the Bush Administration, believes and has "proof" that it was sponsored by Iran. As with the 9/11 attack, no doubts or questions will be allowed. War will follow within days or even hours. If it starts this way, particularly if nuclear weapons are used it will be too late. With the patriot act and other repressive measures, Bush is likely to clamp down on any dissent or other opposition. Martial law and the draft is also probable. Bush will be portrayed as a hero again, who is acting fast to avenge the American victims of the attack. It sounds too fantastic and unbelievable to be true. But reflect on the series of major war crimes including the invasion of Iraq committed by the Bushcons. It follows that committing further major crimes to justify larger illegal wars is to be expected James Bamford has a distinguished history of writing books and articles about the covert operations of U.S. intelligence. The Pentagon originated Operation Northwoods and presented this plan in 1962. President Kennedy, rejected the Pentagon's fake terrorist campaign. However the Kennedy Administration is not like the Bush Administration, which is somewhat to the right of Genghis Khan. A new Operation Northwood's "major terrorist attack on the U.S." would be needed for the American people to support the plans for a nuclear war on Iran. To suppress criticism, dissent and protest in the aftermath, the Bushcons would initiate martial law and more extreme steps toward a fascist state. Peaceful Resolution
of the Nuclear Dispute with Iran His analysis is excellent in his article "Defusing The Iran Crisis". He outlines a very good "peaceful resolution of the nuclear dispute with Iran". He says it "is still possible - but only if leaders and citizen groups around the world work much harder to eliminate the obstacles to intelligent compromise." In addition to educating
the public on the Dangers and Consequences of a Nuclear War With
Iran, I think we should follow Professor Klare's advice and "work
much harder" on "A peaceful resolution of the nuclear
dispute with Iran". This "is still possible" he
says if enough citizens around the world work for it. We have to assume that somehow, truth, reason, logic and the enormous dangers of an escalating war that goes nuclear, will motivate enough people to stop this madness before it's too late. "Under the current U.S. policies, a nuclear exchange in inevitable" said Noam Chomsky March 5, 2006 Professor Noam Chomsky, is a leading intellectual, Professor at M.I.T. author and long-term student of U.S. foreign policy. In a speech at Binghamton University March 5, 2006 on "Imminent Crises; Paths Toward Solutions" he warned about the "dire consequences in the current direction of U.S. foreign policy". He said: "Under the current U.S. policies, a nuclear exchange is inevitable". This reflects what so many others have warned, in writing or speaking about the U.S. plans for war with Iran and global domination. Chomsky also held out
hope: "all of this is under our control if we're not willing
to observe passively and obediently." He said we should:
"Take democracy seriously" "The large majority
of the population already agrees with the things activists are
committed to."
